I don't know. I was apolitical at the time. I guess I would have pegged him as a conservative......from a wealthy manufacturer's family in northern Japan. However, he went to the University of Tokyo so he may have learned some bad traits common to Japanese liberals.

As for his crying, I didn't know Japanese men don't cry, but I suspect his whole life was a lie. That's why he was crying.
