I was riding down my bike path last year and a little baby western rattler was crossing. I stopped to look and it coiled up into the size of a mayonnaise jar lid and was so CUTE - about 10" long, maybe. Most people don't think rattlers are cute, but this one was. It was swishing its tail and everything just like a grown-up, except a 1/8 scale model with no sound at all. No, I didn't pick it up. They are fully armed when born. This one looked like a newborn.
