True. But it takes time to bring up the infrastructure, and you would be vulnerable until that occurs. And those guys play for all the marbles...

As you note, the time horizon is long and the investment is large. It is unlikely that any sane company would attempt entry. Now on the exploration side, that is different. Most of the exploration companies were small and died during the Bust. But I suspect they will start popping up if oil stays where it is now for very long.
