A recent survey, reported on television, noted that Hispanic immigrants are dramatically more optimistic about the future of America and their own future than Americans who were born here. An interviewer asked a third generation Hispanic woman, who works with immigrants, why she thought this was the case. She responded, "First generation Hispanic immigrants are very optimistic because there are so many things they don't understand." It sounded very authentic to me, just as every little boy and girl of a certain age is going to be the President of the United States or a Princess. .
