It is still not clear why you think you know that a professional golfer like Woods has less interest in the science of his field than you did in amateur shooting:

Woods has consciously decided to rebuild his swing twice in his career. That seems evidence he has given it a lot of thought and is not just getting up there and swinging away.

Here you recognize the benefit of study, which I would assume Woods knows too. But you come to a wrong conclusion - it's mostly in the practice.
