AML Communications Receives Contracts Totaling $900,000 from NEC
Brazil, PageMart

CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 4, 1997--AML Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:AMLJ) Thursday
announced that it has received orders totaling $900,000 from two major wireless customers for multicarrier power amplifiers
and paging amplifiers that serve the international cellular and domestic PCS markets, respectively.

AML received a follow-on order of $550,000 from NEC Brazil for M40 multicarrier power amplifier units. AML's initial
order from NEC Brazil for M40 multicarrier power amplifiers, valued at $400,000, was secured in the first fiscal quarter
ending June 30, 1997. AML intends to ship all of the units from the follow-on order by the end of the second fiscal quarter
ending Sept. 30, 1997.

In the second contract, the company secured an order valued at $350,000 from PageMart for paging amplifiers. The contract
is the first significant production order for AML's new product line serving this market.

Commenting on the orders, Jacob Inbar, president and chief executive officer, said, ``These contracts are a significant
validation of our continuous marketing strategy to expand into diversified markets in the wireless communications industry.

``We see our association with NEC Brazil as the beginning of a potentially fruitful relationship. The order from PageMart
establishes AML's presence in the fast growing paging market, and we are hoping to build on this new partnership as well.''

AML Communications designs, manufactures and markets multicarrier amplifiers, masthead amplifiers and repeaters for the
