Jake, I think Lizzie is basically saying the 70s were a period of economic mess, where the stock market experienced a small net decline to flat performance over an entire decade, while gas prices soared. Never heard anyone say the 70s economy was "great." Of course, I suppose disco dancers might have been thrilled. Funny, but I remember how Carter was "blamed" for the economy. But certainly not Bush, oh never. Regards, Amy J PS Saw a copper car yesterday as well as a lime green car. All this economy needs now is to bring back the purple AMC pacer : )
