I bow to your superior command of the complexity of Mexican history.

For my purposes, when statues of saints are smashed and replaced with images of Emiliano Zapata, that's sufficient to support my argument, that Marxists took over at least parts of Mexico (Chiapas, Tabasco, etc.) and replaced religion with Marxism as "the opiate of the people".

Your larger point, that no real Marxist took over Mexico, is subsumed into an even larger point, that no "real" Marxist ever took over anything.

But this is semantics.

The Castros and Lenins of the world take over, the Ches and Trotskys of the world don't.
