Brian, for AMAT to produce that much equipment the industry
and the global economy will need to be hitting on all
cylinders and AMAT will need to be 2x-3x its current size just
to support that kind of growth manufacturing output and
support.
Personally, I have a hard time visualizing that kind of
sustainable industry growth at this time. I don't think the
global economic cycles can operate in the necessary
synchronization for that to happen. I can see it happening
over a long time period, maybe over 4-5 years, but not over the course of a single fiscal year. It is about
sustainability, profitability, and long term growth. AMAT
at 2-3X its current size isn't sustainable because of
industry cycles, IMO.
