Here's a few characteristics: 1) A right wing political party comes to power under dubious circumstances. 2) A major conflagration is responsible for the consolidation of power, terrorization of the country's population, enactment of anti-democratic legislation and national bellicosity. 3) Xenophobia is used as a rallying device by the leadership. 4) Official secrecy and governmental opacity dramatically increase. 5) "Superman" myths, racial superiority and denigration of undermenschen rise dramatically among the populace. 6) Deceit is practiced in the form of propaganda. 7) Torture becomes acceptable policy 8) Latent nationalistic imperial ambitions are glorified. There's plenty more parallels. You only have to open your eyes and read beyond the statist propaganda provided by the corporate media.
