Long Beach Container Terminal Converts Its Entire Fleet to O2Diesel(TM)
Wednesday April 13, 1:00 am ET

NEWARK, DE--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 13, 2005 -- O2Diesel Corporation (AMEX:OTD - News) today announced that the Long Beach Container Terminal, Inc. (LBCT) a 104-acre marine terminal operator at the Port of Long Beach, California, has converted its entire fleet of heavy-duty diesel-powered container handling equipment to cleaner-burning O2Diesel(TM) fuel.

The full fleet conversion follows a successful three months of durability testing in approximately 5 of its so-called "yard dogs," which are heavy duty equipment used to load and unload shipping containers onto trucks and railcars. All equipment ran flawlessly and led LBCT to convert its entire 104 heavy-duty container handling fleet to O2Diesel(TM). The fleet is expected to consume in excess of 750,000 gallons (2,836,000 litres) of O2Diesel(TM) per year.

"The successes achieved at Long Beach Container Terminal not only point to how well O2Diesel(TM) performs in heavy-duty applications, but also demonstrates that O2Diesel(TM)'s potential as a cost effective emissions reduction strategy for ports and all other heavy duty equipment operators throughout California as well as the rest of the US," said Alan Rae, President and CEO of O2Diesel Corporation. "We're very pleased to see such a strong commitment by a major cargo terminal to our fuel, and we see ports as a key market for O2Diesel, a market which currently represents approximately 90 million gallons of diesel fuel consumption annually."

"LBCT has a long-standing policy of operating in an environmentally responsible way, and having now converted our entire container-moving fleet to O2Diesel(TM), we're making further progress toward meeting aggressive emissions standards," said Kevin Hayes, General Manager of LBCT. "O2Diesel(TM) has proven to be a cost-effective solution for LBCT in our efforts to reduce particulate matter and other diesel pollutants. Importantly, unlike some alternatives, our equipment ran faultlessly on O2Diesel(TM) and there was no degradation of performance, which is critical to a busy operation like ours."
