Truly "feral" cats are impossible to keep as house pets. Or since you use quotes maybe you think wild cats are myth? Adopting semi-tame ones would be preferable. Where their numbers are out of control that is obviously impractical so killing is certainly preferable to letting them decimate wildlife. Would you let stray dogs run around unattended?
