I have lived on the gulf coast in several places, right on the water. That's how I came to fish and dive around the rigs. Perhaps those rigs are pretty if you grow up with them and they feel natural, but I didn't have that advantage.

I wouldn't buy a house where the view is ruined by telephone poles and I wouldn't buy one where it's ruined by oil rigs. Couple of sore thumbs IMO.
