Why didn't they WARN!

Given the guidance of profitable overall, then Rivet's midQ comments about tracking a little better than thought (although no guidance change) don't you think they should have warned with this much of a miss?

I for one think this is yet another blemish on the financial team at AMD. The stock can't shine unless management can be trusted for one Qtr foresight. So they get rid of FLASH. The CPU is still up against Intel and whatever practices Intel might through at them. FWIW, it looks like the next 3 Q's might be relatively good, assuming they can dump FLASH pronto, without much impact on Q2. If it impacts Q2, then there will only be two good Q's in 2005, and Intel will have the early 65nm lead in 2006.
