Most here blame Intel for AMD's FLASH woes. The CPG is up against an even worse problem. FLASH was a multiplayer market. CPU's are only Intel & AMD. The general argument has been that FLASH was about 50% of AMD, but < 10% of Intel, so Intel could stomach a price war there rather than in the CPU arena. True, but next time Intel has the advantage in CPU's AMD will find itself in a world of hurt.

Hopefully, AMD uses the competitive advantage they have through 2005 to carve a defensible reputation for the long term, but that remains to be seen. It is such an asymmetric market is the problem.

FWIW, I suspect the stock closes down tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what the analyst's think of this spinoff for AMD. Think we will get some upgrades??
