I wouldn't say "usually". Sure, after the IPO, AMD could sell its Spansion shares for cash. But the proceeds of the new shares issued for the IPO flow to Spansion only.

My comment was about IPOs in general. If you've determined that AMD isn't selling any shares in the IPO, that doesn't contradict my statement.
