RE: "I just don't see why the market won't solve the problem " Basically because you've got only a handful of powerful VC firms. Not all startups require money from venture capital firms. If the developmental SW offshoring idea is so terrible, and the VC firms are promoting it, then the startups that come from non-VC sources will outperform the VC startups, and the terrible SW offshoring trend will die its natural death. As far as I can tell, my conclusion still holds: It can't be both a long term trend and not cost effective. If it isn't a superior method, companies will revert to the old method. If it is a superior method, then Lizzie is wrong. How about the answer to my question, or is that also "top secret"? Elroy, we were as far as I know the first startup that did offshoring of sw dev. When did you start?
