You are right Allen. Don is beginning to sound like a troll. I don't think it's a totally done deal that Apple is going to start grabbing a significant share of the pie but the evidence is pretty compelling. At least to those of us who've paid attention to the tactics and strategies.

Microsoft is bloated as a corporation, and soft. Longhorn is a joke. XP is a joke for that matter. Blows my mind that people would even buy XP. It’s worse than W2000. Microsoft is lazy and ripe for an assault and Apple has done a great job of laying the foundation.

One thing that's particularly impressive to me is the speed and quality of their major system updates. From the original OSX non beta release (which I criticized as a beta) to Jag, which was not quite prime time to Panther which is really pretty amazing, to Tiger which looks very solid, all within 5 years. Not bad. Apple took a chance and won. They've been very deliberate about advancing it. They started slow and got it right. Now they have the huge advantage of an operating system built from the ground up.

And laid with stealth all around this are apps that beat up on the competition. Fill in the gaps between the apps and you have a pretty solid company.
