"noticed recently a Microsoft spokesperson said they didn't detect a change in market share. Is that damning with obtuse observations, like Don? The switching is small so far, but it's accelerating.".............

Analyst firm Morgan Stanley forecast Friday that the Mac, which currently makes up 3 PERCENT of all desktops, could win its way to 5 PERCENT of desktop sales this year. This was based on a survey of 400 iPod users, 19 PERCENT of whom expect to convert from PC to Macintosh. This conversion factor is double that previously expected by analysts.

The bottom line is: It's All about MARKET SHARE

UBS believes Apple's software must play a key roll in moving forward, and estimates that each point of PC market share gained by the company will equate to about $2 billion in incremental Macintosh revenue. "The bottom line impact from each point of share would top $0.30 per share using incremental margin analysis," the firm said. appleinsider.com
