Yep on both counts. As Molly Ivins pointed out, it is sort of disingenuous of the administration to push for Kofi's resignation over the 10s or 100s of millions of dollars that were, ummm, redirected in the Oil for Food program and then hold no one accountable for the $8 billion or more that has gone AWOL in Iraq. Ah, they argue, but that money was being funneled into Saddam's WMD programs and his funding of terrorism...

I won't comment on the intellectual dishonesty shown by that particular argument.

It is interesting that what Kofi is accused of is considered to be SOP by American lobbyists. Relatives and friends of congresscritters regular turn those relationships into lucrative careers.
