I'm not advocating more taxation. I'm simply saying let the markets (or OPEC, since they do have some control) do what markets do. OPEC can cut supply and drive prices up, but they will cut their own throats if they push people to new technology faster.

There could well be a glut of oil 20 years from now that will leave the Middle East in absolute turmoil that makes today's mess look tame.
