Yes the army captain said him and all his boys in afghanistan use illegal drugs. He was a strange character - not the usual officer I meet, much less formal and had lost any respect for life and death - I guess from all the bodies he saw blowing up back in the war zone - had turned it into something to laugh about - maybe a mental survival mechanism - was making many jokes how he liked to see those soldiers fly 10 feet in the air after stepping on a mine and losing a leg. The more exposure to atrocity, the less atrocious it becomes no?
