Actually, we are both half right. According to Phillips, who by the way is no fan of the Bush family, "James Bath, who invested fifty thousand dollars in the 1979 and 1980 partnerships, probably did so as U.S. business representative for rich Saudi investors Salem bin Laden and Khalid bin Mahfouz..."

According to Phillips, most of Arbusto's original capitalization of $565,000 was raised by GWB's uncle, Jonathon Bush. The company eventually raised a total of $5.3 million before it was sold. The $50,000 is less than 1% of the total funds raised.

You have repeatedly used these facts -- Saudi investments that were made during a period when we were closely aligned with the Saudis and Jimmy Carter was providing funding to opposition forces in Afghanistan -- to insinuate that GWB is in some way beholden to the bin Laden family. Are you also suggesting that the entire bin Laden family is a terrorist organization? You know, though you will never admit it, that both of those accusations are complete bullshit.
