I have read in the past few weeks that Iraq may actually have more extractable oil remaining than Saudi Arabia does. Have been through hundreds of web sites lately so not sure where I saw it but if I come across it again I will post it. Article also suggested we don't want to "Own" the oil but rather want to make sure it remains available to the markets.

Hard to believe we REALLY invaded Iraq to find WMD. Our intelligence people are way too smart to not know there were none. We have set up permanent bases in Iraq and I am pretty sure we will still have a strong military presence there 10 years from now.

Also hard to believe we can't find Zarqawi or Bin Laden after all this time, and bet we know exactly where they are. Only explanation I can find is that it is not in our best strategic interests to take them out. Their freedom is crucial to our foreign policy goals.

FWIW I am retired. You still need hobbies. Trying to figure out what is happening in the world at least keeps the mind fairly sharp.
