These attempts to "cocoon" people from reality with government protection programs are just an excuse to increase the government's power.

I don't completely disagree with you. We have to be careful about getting government, or really any bureaucracy, involved in anything. The intention my be good, but somehow things aways get screwed up.

But, the reality is, it is never good to go to an extreme position. All government all the time or no government none of the time.

It is always about getting the right balance.

That is easier said than done, but we can't give up. We have to keep trying to get the right balance. But, just going to some extreme - is not the best way to do things.
