John, I'm with Comcast and have FF. Have noticed timeouts, too. Comcast also announced it had increased download speed from 3 to 4 Mb/s [max]. I see none of the touted improvement. Support is evasive on this. Since I get between 2.3 and 2.9 Mb/s I'm leaving things alone.

I get occasional timeouts mainly on ihub and Yahoo. Yahoo messages often load slowly.

PS: Comcast had widely reported DNS server problems for a week, but they have reportedly been fixed. I just don't trust anything they say.
