Religion (all of them) have become corrupt and bullying organizations on a par with corrupt governments. That's the reality of the human species and the world we live in. The gaudiness and wealth exhibited by the Vatican is, IMO, pathetic. This is while the organization of the church allowed priests to molest children for decades. Whatever happened to sack cloth and poverty? Is it necessary to live in baronial splendor in order to glorify God? Since when? Ditto the all-glass cathedrals in the US with their over-fed, over-medicated followers swooning for the televangelist's cameras. In the meantime, Sachs has to beg for cheap mosquito netting to protect children from malaria. Pathetic.
