IMO the whole topic is a loser. It is a fundamental problem with modern society. We are nutcases about security. We don't have a healthy view of our own mortality. We fear death and we try to build the illusion of permanence into temporal existence. We fear material loss more than we value our essential nature. It all comes of having lost our faith in the goodness of eternity.

You wont find me arguing on the issue of Social Security benefits from a either political side. It is an important issue but the irrational and emotional turbulence is too great.
