First I will correct something, it is NOT the local police tried to halt the riot, it is the local MinBing, which is a lot dif. from police. That said, I am with you on this. The truth is, many Chinese local officials have been bought by those developers, and most of those developers ARE from the West. Those developers take advantage of no/little environmental regulation and no/little law enforcement in China, and they also spend a lot of money to buy local officials.

Now here come the hypocrisy part, a lot of toilet paper, other paper product and chemicals sold in the US have been imported from China, and those paper mills/chemical plants have caused heavy environmental pollution in China, and endanger people's lives there. And why the political correct US people do not boycott those toilet paper or a lot of other chemicals produced in China? That is because they want to use the cheap staff, and the US companies want to make big profit! Where does those big profit come from? Yes, not much of them from cheap labor in China, but a lot from no/little environmental regulation and no/little law enforcement in China.

So before anyone accusing the consequences, they should investigate the cause!
