Seems like a great opportunity frittered away by mismanagement typical of the high flying, late 1990s; Arthur Anderson was replaced as auditor in 2002 while a great deal of the finance staff recently left in summer of 2004. And perhaps reflective of the high costs of entry to play the digital media game (royalty agreements with major record labels, etc.) Still, with the success of iPod, one has to wonder if greater than $200M of debt is not an insurmountable figure, even with mismanagement.
