Well first of all "science" is not perfect, and is in fact very far from perfect and is constantly evolving.
The medical profession and "science" gave mercury pills to Abraham Lincoln, but we would laugh at that today.
So, 100 years from now, "they" will look back and laugh at "us" in many ways, for believing the so called "scientific" things we believe in today...
With Terri, no, I am not believing in a "belief system", and surely you must know by now, the opinion that she was "brain dead" was not universal.
