All she required was feeding and basic hygiene and that her parents were prepared to give as, indeed, many parents give brain damaged or retarded children.
Likewise, hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of homeless and trailer dwellers in the US are merely in want of "feeding and basic hygiene" yet are deprived of both... You talk as if EVERYBODY in the US was actually rolling in it. The US, a country without poor, without homeless, without misery, without illegals and minorities struggling to make both ends meet or just get over the next winter... in short, an American Shangri-la that caters to all its fit citizens yet shamefully "exterminates" its disabled and its brain-damaged out of petty, budgetary stinginess! Unfortunately, such is not the case and the real shame is that the very same people who've been picketing the late Schiavo's clinic, crying for maintaining her in her vegetative agony forever, never cared, never gave a damn, about the plight of their less fortunate fellow citizens.
The same fanatical, religious, fascistic hysteria prompts them to vilify the state/medical authorities who dare frustrate God's will (to keep Mrs Schiavo in a hopeless vegetative stasis) and, at the same time, to call for less taxes to help the needy --go figure.
