You are right.

The 50 cal machine gun has one trigger for single shot firing. Since entering inventory, the gun has been used extensively for fixed position sniping.

Ditto for the old 106mm recoilless rifle. It has a single shot 50 cal spotting rifle mounted on it. I have personally seen it being used for sniping. I also recall that model spotting rifle was later being made, without the 106 mount, specifically for sniping.
