The more sophistictaed electronics/electrical goods in my apartment are made in Taiwan (computer, hard drive etc). The smaller items like a phone, iron, clock-radio/CD player are all made in China (and bought at Walmart). Of course they all have American or Japanese brand-names on them (GE, Iomega, Apple, Black&Decker, Sony etc.).

My Swedish friend was really excited when we went shopping at Walmart when she was here in December. She couldn't believe how low the prices were.
