john, make sure you have an original birth certificate for soc sec. when you take her down to claim .

In order to make sure i had the correct papers for my wife when i filed a few months ago i showed the clerk various marriage, citizenship papers and birth record... Person said these do not look like original.. I told her i have two sets of originals as my sister in law when back in Ireland the last two year took almost a full a day each time to get them(we misplaced first set).

She looked them over again and said i think you will have trouble with these they do not look like originals.. My sister in law flipped out when i told her as she saw the clerk stamp and sign them . So i now have the soc sec rep convinced they are originals and will go back to her in the fall for my wife to fill out claim forms.

this getting old must mellow us some to put up with these annoyances. If we were younger i doubt i would have handled them as well. gg
