I think this is a good point. The US dollar has absolutely lost its role in the world economy. The only thing preventing a huge repricing of world assets in another currency is uncertainty about who will take over the leadership role. Will it be China? Europe? Or Japan ??

Politics aside, this is another reason why i hate what the Bush administration has done with its fiscal prodigality in this country. I will use the religious term because we have a faith-based presidency right now.

People don't talk about it, but the only way to clarify who will take over the world economic leadership role is for some foreign economic power to challenge the USA and to beat the USA. This is how to Britain lost its role as world superpower (World War I), and it is also how the USA will lose its role as superpower (World War III?)

By debasing the dollar and screwing overseas creditors in the name of a tax cut for the hyper rich, Bush has actually increased the chance of a foreign invasion of the US, or a world war - you take your choice.

Does this administration have any idea what they are playing games with ??
