You actually believe God controls everything here on earth, including our individual lives and health? Exercise, eating habits, cholesterol levels, smoking, drinking, genetics and medical technology have nothing to do with it huh? We just die when God decides? Boy, God must be one incredible busy-body. Why does he make Americans so fat? Why does he allow pollution and species to be wiped out? Why did he let OJ off? Why did he let the energy companies gouge us? And why doesn't he reward good people with long lives and kill the creeps early?
Hey guess what, pal, we now have medical technology that can keep brain-dead vegetables and terminal patients alive for years, though it's not really living, life at that point is more of a technicality. God has nothing to do with how they can stick a feeding tube in you and keep you artificially alive for months and years.
In the animal world, when they can't eat, they die. That is God or nature telling them something. Time to go. In the human world, they just plug you in. That's the modern world. And in that case, where technology can keep you artificially alive, "life" starts becoming a negative not a positive. I don't know a single person who'd want to be kept alive on a feeding tube for very long, do you? |
