This is why religious must be kept out of government. Because no two religions or varaations of religions can ever agree on much of anything, even though presumeably they worship the same God. And the US was founded on freedom of religion. That means freedom for everyone, even athiests and satan worshippers. Most wars have been fought by people who can't agree on interpretations of ancient scriptures. In fact, nobody really knows if they're right, or anything. God is a mystery and Jesus may or may be historical. If he was a real man he may have been very different from the Biblical account. Remember, the Bible has been rewritten, censored and changed quite a bit from its original form. And as for Jesus telling us what political stripe we should be, that's absurd. Jesus would frown just as much on the current rightwing policies as he might on gay orgies.
