Besides, there will be lower power Dempsey versions available with a power envelope that is close to Opteron´s. They are not quite the same performance, but close enough.


Good grief. Close enough? Imagine if someone said the same thing about an AMD part. Imagine if AMD were 9 months late with DC server parts, and their solution used 60-80% more power. But, don't worry, they'll have some slower parts that are "close" to the competitor's power envelope, with "close enough" performance.
