Terri starved herself (actually bulimia is probably worse than pure starvation) and, yes, it was determined that she would not want to kept alive in such a state. THAT IS THE ENTIRE POINT OF HER CASE. FREE WILL.

Since there is no morphine overdose to ease her way, that was what was left to her.
