Deutsche Bank upgrades AMAT to Buy from Hold based on their view of a stabilizing trough level business environment, expectations of the consumption of excess capacity by year-end, a resumption of order growth toward the end of 2005 or early 2006, and a consequent positive risk to reward profile. Firm believes the co is looking at a largely flat orders environment through FY05 and notes that recent checks show no slowing of present business levels or degradation of expectations.
