It was a surprise a few years ago when the AMT first kicked in on my return. It is interesting to read that it was targeted at just over thirty taxpayers by a recess appointment to the Treasury post.

If it upsets the blue blood states' citizens, then maybe we should let it stay just the way it is. They chronically want to spend more, and now they are upset because their taxes are financing their spending desires. Can you say poetic justice?

Honestly though; the AMT has not been indexed and is now out of control. It must be changed.
