I am diabetic, most of my fat friends that ate that extra wendy's chili and all the fingers in it are too - so no more sugar for us - why do you think it will go up - fundamentally? All those new rich consumers in china getting tired of rice and wanting some sweets? You really think they will start eating something they can't make domestically when all thier other imports are going up in price?

However florida is a big place for sugar production, and the more condos we build, the less room for sugarcane no? hehe

I saw a special on walmart in china - they were selling live turtles and such in the stores, walmart adapted to thier food choices, it didn't seem the other way around, that the chinese consumers were buying western walmart type foods - but I will have to defer to Yiwu in this.
