<<Got medevaced to Landstuhl in 80. Then got medevaced to Letterman from Landstuhl. That injury was the one that got me medically retired Mar 1, 82. Some of our guys were going through there then. Were you there?>> I was in the 581st which provided the cracker box ambulances for 2nd Gen back in '69 and '70. Not long after that the 581st was disbanded and 2nd Gen got their own ambulances which were a lot nicer than the 4 racks for litters and no medical equipment we drove. <<I sure hope Landstuhl has some newer facilities. That place was doggy in 1980.>> Back when I was there they had the best snack bar of any hospital I've ever been in.
