Leica's direct write lithography web page states: System of choice for manufacturing advanced compound semiconductor microwave devices where the requirements are accurately controlled gate structures down to below 50nm. semiconation.com I am no expert, but I believe the market for such devices is still relatively small when compared to Si semiconductor devices, so I don't think Leica or its lenses pose a significant direct threat to ASML at this point. Hopefully Cary can shed more light on this. You yourself cited an article last year that talked about this: Message 19829092 According to this list artwork.com, Leica is a customer of ASML. ASML's significant competitors are Canon and Nikon, both of whom manufacture their own lenses. Sam
