Dragging is evil, there is little doubt of it ... there are fisheries biologists on the Island, one was my neighbour once and i got to know a few socially, they tend to be hesitant to make value judgments but they make it quite plain in the case of draggers ... it only stands to reason, once you know how they work, and how fish reproduce and develop ... the old-time jiggers didn't like to take the tommycod off the bottom, or many of them didn't, at least, it is said, because they knew that's where the little cod come from ... if i could be assured the cash would go purely into steel and welding for these caltrops i'd send these folks a cheque, but sure don't want to support their persecution of newfies .... cheers
