John, I don't think it makes any difference. Both are symbols for the same stock. The pink sheet quote is US $ while the .v quote is $Canadian.

If you send a bid to buy the pink, broker will convert to $C and send to V exchange. Think of pink quote as more a convenience to allow you to trade online rather than talk to a broker who calls the Canadian floor and gets the C quote.

I'm no expert on this but I understand that there is about a 1/2 cent spread on the conversion from US to C built in plus your usual bid/ask spread.

Be careful in entering a bid or offer based on the pink sheet quote as it may be very stale. I've found the best way to trade Canadian stocks for a US account is to get the Canadian quote, convert to US dollars and then use that to enter the pink sheet bid.
