Sharon has been a soldier all his life. He was never a terrorist. Nor did any Israeli leader propose wiping out the Arabs of Palestine as a solution, as the Hizbullah and Hamas et al did and still do regarding the Jews. The Arab leaders also created the permanent Palestinian refugee crisis by stuffing the refugees into UN camps to be refugees forever, never resettled. Clever of them to get leverage on the other side with this device.

Do you think if the Israelis had stuffed the Jewish refugees of Iraq, Iran, Syria, Egypt, etc into camps, they would have gained leverage over the Arab leaders?

To ask the question is to answer it. The two sides have always been playing by very different rulesets here.
