Different issue. I can ignore posters just fine...
but it's hard to ignore the fairly regular slow-downs
I've been getting at SI (only) for the last week at least.
I'll be cruising along, reading. Back to the main thread
from a post, click on the next one I want to read, and....
...... ..... nada. Sometimes the post will eventually load
but usually I have to go back to my 'favorites' list and reopen
SI, after hitting the Int. Expl'r stop button.
Seems to come and go, maybe worse in the evening. (?) (PDT)
When it's happening, like now, I'll be able to read a few posts
then, the screech of brakes. Sometimes the only cure is
to find another site to read for awhile, come back and
find everything's OK. For awhile.

Hi speed (cable) access, fairly snappy hardware, no such
delays at any other sites I can think of.

Any known reasons for this on your end?
