That NY Times article is just spin control for the Pope's Nazi past. One thing you do as a Hitler Youth is you are given a German Shepard which you care for for a year. At the end of the year you are called to a court yard and ordered to kill the dog immediately as a demonstration of loyalty to Hitler. Hitler Youth is a mind warping experience. And I complain about my own childhood! ha
